以下の事案が大ニュースになっております。

2017年1月27日に署名された国家へのテロ攻撃を防ぐための大統領令により、イラク、イラン、リビア、ソマリア、スーダン、シリア、イエメンの国籍を有する方へのビザ発給は、今後更なる通知があるまで停止となります。上記に関する最新情報はこちらで随時更新します。

Urgent Notice

Per the Executive Order on Protecting the Nation from Terrorist Attacks by Foreign Nationals signed on January 27, 2017, visa issuance to nationals of the countries of Iraq, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen has been suspended effective immediately until further notification. If you are a citizen of one of these countries, please do not schedule a visa appointment or pay any visa fees at this time. If you already have an appointment scheduled, please DO NOT ATTEND. You will not be permitted entry to the Embassy/Consulate. We will announce any other changes affecting travelers to the United States as soon as that information is available.

写真の規定変更について
2016年11月1日より、眼鏡を着用した写真は不可となります。

パスポートも眼鏡なしのほうがよさそうですね。

VISAはもちろん眼鏡なしですよ。

ということで、以前は

アメリカのVISA状況の変化

として、「ISに立ち寄ったことがある人は一般のビザ免除プログラムは適応できない」と記載しました。

が、今回はそんなモンじゃなく、「ISが関与する？と思われる国籍の方は、完全にアメリカ入国を禁止する。」わけです。

カリフォルニアはコレに関して反対が大多数。

デモも行われています。

先日の校内のデモもそれ関連だったようです。

US President Donald Trump’s executive order to block citizens of seven Muslim-majority countries from entering the United States has left many confused and afraid, and it has thrown some researchers’ professional lives into disarray. Nature meets some of the scientists affected — from a molecular biologist at Harvard who may not be able to return to the US if he leaves for a conference, to a physicist at Yale who faced discrimination in his home country and sought religious freedom in the United States.
